Our 3rd Birthday Wrap-Up!

Greetings Members,

We celebrated Writing.Com's three year birthday with party decorations,

:: Contest Results: "Limericks! Limericks! Limericks!"  ::
Our annual Limerick contest asks members to write a G rated rhyme about
Writing.Com's Birthday, Writing.Com in general, writers or writing. There
were dozens of great entries and picking our winners was a daunting task!

First Place: 250,000 GPs to:

         There once was a site ‘twas da bomb
         known as stories (then writing) dot com.
         Just this week we turned three,
         ever squelching ennui…
         creativity ripe with aplomb.

         StoryMaster and soon-to-be-Ma’am
         shaping contest, and badges, and slam,

         and, extinguishing doubt,
         see their baby has outgrown the pram!


         With a couple like them at the helm,
         we’ve a whole online family realm

:: Results For: "Good Deeds Go Noticed"  ::
This contest promised the awarding of two prizes of 250,000 Gift Points to
random winners whose reviews were helpful and followed our rules. Because
we received 110 entries, I decided to throw in one more winner and added a
third prize of 250,000 Gift Points. The winners and their survey response
numbers, in the order they were drawn are as follows:

:: Contest Results: "It Was A Dark and Stormy Night..."  ::
Entrants to this contest were supposed to grab a few buddies and start a
campfire! The topic was totally up to their group, we simply requested that
it BE CREATIVE! There was only ONE entry and that winning group will
evenly divide the 500,000 Gift Point first place prize amongst themselves.

:: Extension For Grandfathered Free Accounts ::
On May 15th we announced some changes to our Free Membership, including
a reduction in items to a maximum of 5. For full details please see:
         "Important Changes To Our Membership Plans" 
While the Grandfather period for pre-existing free memberships has elapsed,
we have decided to extend the Grandfather Period. The new grace period will
expire November 15th, 2003.

If you're still using your OLD Stories.Com email address anywhere, this is an
early reminder that email service for Stories.Com addresses will end 12/31/03.
This will, for the most part, remove a lot of the SPAM being sent to our servers.

To ensure yourself a smooth transition, it is important that you update your
contact information anywhere you are still using a Stories.Com email address
before the service is turned of. (For our newer members: We changed our
address from Stories.Com to Writing.Com 1/1/03... this note is only intended
for members with accounts started under our Stories.Com domain name.)
