"He's Dead, Jim . . ."

Those famous words by "Doc" on the original Star Trek series have become a running joke. On any away team, the person wearing the off-color uniform was destined to either not come back, or to come back as a lifeless corpse.

The entire away team is in blue, except for one poor shmuck who, for one reason or another, has on a red uniform. Well, Doc will be saying about him to Kirk, "He's dead, Jim." That you could almost count on each episode. How would you like a doctor, say a family doctor, who used the phrase, "He's dead . . . " at least once each week? Scary, eh?
