Dear Diary
Dear Diary,

If only I had 24 hours of uninterrupted time, this is what I would do with my writing life. I would write and write and write without stop every thing that came into my mind. I would complete one entire project in one day rather than taking two or three day or a week or a month or a year. I would not stop writing until I had written out all my frustrations and fears, all my undealt-with issues, all my hate, all my love, all my faith. I would write without pause or without stop until I had set a record for writing, a record that would go in the record books.

Thinking about 24 hours of uninterrupted writing gives me goose bumps, chills crawl up my spine and my mind begins to wander. My mind visualizes the time without fear of encountering writer’s block. Of course there is always the possibility of getting writer’s block but I can not imagine it stopping me from writing straight through for 24 hours. Thinking about 24 hours of uninterrupted writing time is a dream that would give me a chance to complete every project I have ever started without an excuse. I could write without having to interrupt a thought for anything.

Now when I write, I am interrupted by the necessities of life but with 24 hours of uninterrupted writing time I could become a famous author, if for no other reason then setting a world writing record. The interruptions are only excuses for letting the fear and negativity get in the way of my writing. When someone interrupts me now they apologize and I tell them that I like interruption. The truth is that sometimes I do like interruption, because it helps me to think about what I am going to write next. When I am working on a poem or a piece of fiction the interruptions break up the stubborn resistance to new directions for the characters and the story.

Interruptions give me a chance to read over what I have written and proof read for mistakes the word process did not catch. Mistakes like putting in there when I intended to put in their. Interruptions help me to find the spelling mistakes or typos that the word process did not catch because the word is spelled properly it just is not the proper word for that context. So perhaps 24 hours of uninterrupted writing time would not be as wonderful as I think it would. True the thought of getting in the record books for writing 24 hours is tempting but it is not practical.

If only I had 24 hours of uninterrupted time, this is what I would do with my writing life. This is a thought that has often occurred to me, a thought that may or may not be a good idea. A lot of things sound like a good idea in theory, but when it comes to practice the theory breaks down into reality. Besides with 24 hours of uninterrupted writing time how would I eat and drink not to mention feed my mind and soul with ideas to keep me writing.
