Spring Gardening
I seem to have settled into a nice gardening routine the past few days, and I haven't spent much time on the computer. I posted an article link and a picture on American Idol at italknews.com this week. Sunday, I spent a lot of time reviewing operating systems with my student. His test was Monday, and I'm sure he did well. I'm glad he always seems to need help when the gas prices go up. I don't get paid much, but every little bit helps at 2.99/gallon.

I bought more plants than I could get in the ground right away. I always go crazy when I'm plant shopping. This time I'm putting plants and bushes in containers mostly. I have one area by the garage picked out for a watermellon patch. Then the plants got left in a bowl that blew over, and the plants dried out. They're taking a sink bath now, and I think they'll be okay. We had so much rain, then everything dried up because of the stiff wind. I need to water the plants in the front yard today.

I'm waiting for my yard guy to call, and I'm supposed to meet him at my old house for him to do the yard. The old house hasn't sold yet. Keeping the yard nice will help. I envision yellow marigolds around the tree, with a layer of mulch, if my back holds old. Carlos will help. It's a nice thought whether or not it gets done.

I've got dirt under my nails that won't wash out. My nails are little nubs as it is. But I love playing in the dirt. God lives in my garden.
