Virtual Assets: THE IRS & YOU
IRS taxation of online game virtual assets inevitable
By Daniel Terdiman, Staff Writer, CNET News.com

So ask yourself - When will Writing.Com Gift Points be considered TAXABLE? Ask yourself too - When will the Gift Points we earn reviewing and/or winning contests need to be reported on a 1099?

I'm wondering if that also means my charitable donations to ROAK will someday soon also be tax deductible?

I don't play games for money, but I do use my membership on Writing.Com to hone my writing skills.

Can you imagine what kind of sick and twisted minds we're dealing with that want to tax virtual assets? Imagine before the Internet if someone suggested taxing your Monoply winnings? The suggestion that Virtual Assets be taxable is truely INSANE.
