Beautiful as the timeless thought of darkness Lovely as silk hugging curves on a summer night The thought and phrases that come out in her walk Takes flight at first glance during peripheral sight As she walks past swiftly I am smoothly glancing Her walk rhythmically entrancing Her style as ancient as the drums that beat In the heart of grasslands in the Serengeti Shall she be my sunrise? Captivating my mornings and awakening my senses To her aroma of genuine womanhood Can’t find a girl like her in the hood Cause they can only be seen at night Away from the nightlife and in the starlight She stands out like a blonde highlight Breaking the patterns of black hair Dare I say her beauty is lasting? Cause she gets it from her momma The legacy of the beauty in her family Will put your senses in a trauma Meaning you lose your sense Commonly used to let you know you can’t approach her with a line It would be a crime to put her in a class with the rest She puts the spottie ottie in the dopolicious scene She is that brand of coffee that has no need for cream Because she’s never bitter And a man’s love for her will never wither Her words could stop bullets Before the spring releases the trigger Her strength will never go down in history But will stay in my memory Forever Just like black leather on a 95 degree day she is The epitome of heat A smile that makes you sweat in your seat And melts you into submission And she never sees it Show her It doesn’t take a psychologist to get to know her To know her tears fall when it doesn’t rain That it is hard for her to smile when there is pain And sometimes she would rather be on a train Far away from here Than to be there where niggas will just stare But won’t dare care like we do Sometimes I wish I could show her But I just find ways to ignore temptations And clothe her With fellowship Because to that star That shines so brightly on that African night I am nothing more Than a friend as distant as a lion to a herbivore lifestyle But with the same heart I love her with the courage to wipe tears And to stay in touch over the years Because even stars Need someone to talk to Wish upon a star To understand my words, you must first understand my mind.
