Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills. |
Mother Martha-of-the-Winter The squirrel sits up on grey haunches, holds her paws together, a nun in contemplation. Is she keeping them warm? Is she praying I leave? © Kåre Enga 2008 [164.518a] 2008-02-19 Coming of age during the sexual revolution: ready to learn how to fly, to be flown. ME: Actually managed to go to the post office and mail a package to a friend (3 gifts for his son), a package to my house-mate who is still enjoying Florida, and a submission of six poems. Mailing things has become more difficult since 9/11. Fortunately there weren't the usual long lines yesterday. 2 inches of snow and the city shuts down! The university let out early so I didn't get to a computer. Hung out in the Oread Bookstore and bought a copy of Coal City Review (which I'll submit to next as soon as I figure which poems are suitable) and 'book' of 30 postcards of Will Barnet. I already have ideas of poems for The Sled, Three Chairs and Edge of the World. A Will Barnet link: http://www.tfaoi.com/aa/2aa/2aa233.htm Wish I could find better! A photo of my Aunt Ivaloo, at age 91, from a year ago. I just figured out how to download it here. Kansas: 22º and grey. 2514 |
