Copper knives
Copper knives
Purple adorns the north, the south glows orange
and I grimace when each copper blade
slashes my ankles, bruises my heels
as naked I walk through these paths by night,
by sheer obstinence assert my right
to find you.
Gold beyond copper,
emerald beyond gold, your opaline eyes
beyond all. You are my thrall.
And neither blood oozing wounds
nor the end of this world gives me fright.
I seek only your light, ahead past these knives:
purple and orange tinted copper.
Stressed. Planning trips on a shoestring with no independent way to get there and no cheap place to stay (nothing is cheap) adds to my anxiety. Not in the mood to blog.
I had meatloaf at Kelly's today and finished off my tapioca pudding I made last night this morning. Some days are best kept simple.
Gzaibun arrived in NY, VA, TX and England ...
Kansas: Sunny and 44º. Snow at my mom's; Cyclone Ophelia off of West Australia. Better to be here even though this was one of the wettest winters on record.
