We Montanans can vote!
2008, October 7th

Put succinctly, the GOP in Montana decided to question thousands of voter registrations here in Montana. The list in Missoula County was rife with 18, 19, and 20 year olds, but even included folks in their 80s and 90s.

Folks have been infuriated!

And not only Democrats. The Lt. Gov who is Republican and many a Republican legislator were miffed too. They felt it put the GOP in a bad light and that it could backfire.

It still might.

The Democrats filed a lawsuit and have not yet decided whether to persue it; however, the GOP has backed down on challenging folks' right to vote:

We Montanans can vote.

I was lucky to not be on the list (I moved here from out-of-state, registered through the folks on the streets, and re-registered when I moved). I got my ballot in the mail today. Yay.
