The Journal of Someone who Squandered away Years but wishes to redeem them in the present |
| I got one of my reader comments published at Megan McArdle's site. http://www.theatlantic.com/personal/archive/2010/07/death-be-not-proud/60511/ It's not the best thing I've ever written, and it's even a little cliche for me (though I'm fond of a few paragraphs, including the last 3 and the last line especially). In a universe where I'm rather continuously bombarded with signals that I'm insignificant and meaningless, this comment being published gives me a moment to clinch my fist and raise it up to the sky. Somewhere in me there is a power that touches people. Somewhere in me there is something significant. Perhaps somewhere out there, there is a place where I belong... Hang in there, me. Just hang in. It is never too late to be what you might have been. -- George Eliot Courage to start and willingness to keep everlasting at it are the requisites for success. -- Alonzo Newton Benn |
