Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
Well, yesterday I really did it. Locked my keys in the truck when I went into the grocery store, the very first time ever, at 67 years of age. Guess I am getting scatterbrained. The locksmith charged $55. Hopefully, Geico will reimburse me for some of that. While I was standing by the truck waiting the nicest thing happened, just a little too late. A cute little woman came up and offered to drive me home to get my spare key and bring me back. She was a schoolteacher. Wasn't that the nicest thing? Renewed my faith in mankind...again . We are in for a chilly night (38 degrees), a big switch from the 80's and 60's. It has been drizzly, cool, and windy all day, not my idea of Florida weather. Jim got a new wheelchair today, a 16 incher, so now he can whiz through our narrow doorways without much trouble. It fits him better anyway and pushes like a Cadillac, yeah. All the birdies must know cold weather is coming. They have been at the feeders all day. How come they are so smart? I also noticed some dead branches scattered about the backyard...windy, windy. Jim had labwork again today but we don't know the results yet. He says even if his potassium is sky high, he is not going back to the hospital again. Sure hope it's down. Can't say as I blame him...sixty days is enough. until next time...c |
