Monday, May 28, 2012 ~ MAY 2012 FOLLOW ME BLOGGING CHALLENGE prompt is Cherished Treasure by Humming Bird I grew up in a time of innocence and simplicity. It was a time when the solution to all of our problems meant making more money so that we could become good consumers. It was a different reality then the one we are living in today. Childhood memories became nostalgic echoes; Happiness was an innocent game of Hop Scotch or Hide-N-Seek. Each Sunday morning church was mandatory ... Religious training a requirement that no one questioned; In Sunday school they taught that heaven was restricted and Segregated, which only one religion could enter. Happiness was an innocent game of Hop Scotch or Hide-N-Seek. Ecology was mentioned but not stressed because our Duty was to become good consumers. Treasures are hidden in those memories ... Reasons to question that reality; Each birthday I see more clearly the lies I was taught About religion, ecology, consumer culture, etc. Searching for truth independently, I Use my mind to learn about a new way to live and Reasons to under consume rather then over consume; Each birthday I see more clearly the lies I was taught. I have a file boxes and journals containing poetry and stories; mostly poetry that I have to rewrite or accept as completed. Sometimes in the rewriting process, the theme and subject change.
