The April 20, 2013 prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS" is Today is National Record Store Day...what's the first vinyl album, cassette or cd you ever remember getting? We always had records in our house. My grandparents had a RCA Victor Victrola AM Radio and Record Player Cabinet model. I am not sure what year it was because it was a large piece of furniture setting in living room across from the television set. Grandpa was one of those people who, if he could afford it, always had the latest technology. I remember sitting in the living room and listening to the radio or a record played on that record player. I know the record player would play 78 and 45 records, but I don't know when Grandpa bought it so I can't say what year it was made. As for the first record I bought. It had to be either Elvis Presley or the Everly Brothers, but I'm not sure which one I bought first. I had a whole collection of Elvis Presley, Everly Brothers, and other popular singers. I listened to them all the time and some I sang along with when I was a teenagers. Despite the stress of my teen years, I was probably a typical teenager or at least I thought I was at the time. |
