Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
Good news for you folks up north. I am seeing gangs of robins here in Gainesville, Florida, this morning. They only stay here for a few days and then they are off on their journey farther north...to you. Birds know. Spring is on the way . And the sandhill cranes that winter here on Payne's Prairie are also getting restless. I see and hear them circling overhead almost everyday. Soon they will be traveling farther north, following their food supply. Click on the link in this article, http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/sandhill_crane/sounds, and you will hear what I am hearing. I did write that story for my critique pod coming up this Tuesday that I talked about in my last blog, "The Trip" . If you have a minute, it's not very long, and if you have another minute, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. My Aunt Dorothy was always doing something nice for me. I miss her. I am going to an author series presentation at my library this afternoon. Edward Kelsey Moore will be talking about his debut novel, "The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat", sounds intriguing. He is also a professional cellist so we will hear some "live" music as well. Should be very enjoyable...will report on that later. I grocery shopped yesterday and stopped by Kangaroo (my go-to for gas) on the way home, finally getting some gasoline for my mower. It's grass-cutting time here and I have my work cut out for me next week. I have been very lax (and lazy) this winter. Hope my arthritis cooperates as I have big plans for yard work. I love spring. Do you realize daylight savings time begins on March 8th? Now that is really encouraging.... until next time...c |
