Learnings from attending an Ethiopian “Christian” church:
1. I doubt Jesus spoke English.
2. My pastoral relative from Sweden knew little English when he came to the states. I doubt I would have understood him.
3. We loved on each other, singing was fantastic (yet I did not know a word) I became emotional (God was present)
4. We read the same bible, loved Jesus and loved on each other.
5. They were Pentecostal holiness. I half imagined they would speak tongues in English.
There were healings, demons were cast out, and the preacher was on fire. He shared scripture about waking up in the morning to praise God, not letting our spiritual fire go out.
6. I was fed.
7. I praise God I attended and took a friend from work that explained to me what happened once it was over.
