God, Please change my relationship with food.

I prayed this today:

God, Please change my relationship with food.

After those words were spoken, I began to eat my breakfast and a thought came:

"When you eat, eat."

It isn't a new idea but, if I act on it, it will be a new behavior for me. I usually eat while doing something else - watching tv or a video, listening to tv or an audio-book, attempting to read -

There had been at least once in my past I attempted to eradicate this habit and choose to"savor the flavor".

I was not successful in making this change.

As the saying goes, I need to learn to eat to live rather than live to eat.

Food has been a God-substitute in my life. I have turned to it for comfort.

It has also been a cure for boredom. Eating has been my one consistent form of recreation - often my only recreation.

Neither of those are good things.

God, please change my relationship with food.

I confess gluttony and everything associated with my wrong relationship with food as sin (as being contrary to Your Will for me in this area) and I look to You to change me and make me the woman You want me to be.
