Lighthouses and Faraway

Prompt: Lighthouses and faraway. Write about these.

I love lighthouses and I enjoyed visiting the one in St. Augustine, Florida. I climbed up the steps. I could never do it again. I have a replica of this lighthouse and it nice to know I have been there. To a sailor seeing a lighthouse, it probably looks far away but they can see the light. In a fog, I bet they look faraway but at night with their beacons on, it don't seem faraway.

I think of foreign countries and they seem so faraway. A five hour drive seems faraway. Sometimes, we get in deep thought and we are faraway. Lately, I wish I was faraway. My job but we will leave it at that. I once told my boss I wanted to go live in a lighthouse and she said she would go with me. Seriously? She is the one thing I am trying to be faraway from!

Lighthouses are a thing of beauty even though they were a guide for sailors not to run into cliffs. Sailors had journeys faraway but I am sure they were glad to get home and seeing a lighthouse has to be a beautiful site!
