Independent Thing I Have Ever Done

Blog City Prompt: What is the most independent thing you have ever done?

I moved in with friends once but that didn't work out. This one room mate stoled from me and wanted to pick fights. My one room mate spent the rent money I gave her on other things.

Getting married was a good thing and an independent thing to do. Going to a small Catholic college. Writing is an independent thing but I can't make a living at it.

Holding down a job, never asking my parents for money, buying a car on my own. These all count as independent things.

Driving to a town 2 hours away by myself was independent. I stayed with my cousin and her husband for 5 days. I was 20.

Having your own bank account, credit card, well, these are good things.

Independence is a good thing. I rely on my husband a lot to do things. I think a lot of women do. Anyway, this is my summary of independent things.
