Weathering The Storm

Life crashes
Turmoil raises its head
Its eye twinkles with mischief....
And mayhem
Erupts.
Life takes a landslide
And I am evicted
From the life I knew
Tumbling into the unknown
Where pain lashes at me
Cuts deep
And leaves me bleeding
Almost broken...
But I am strong
I will not let this defeat me
I will not let him win
I will be brave
And face what now
Lays before me
Fear and anxiety wreak havoc
But I call out 'Peace'
And sit in the silence of the maelstorm
That swirls and tosses around me
I listen to that small, still voice
It says everything will be...
Okay.
I cannot lose my Faith
Nor my hope
Or my life.
All else does not matter
It can be rebuilt
         Remade
                   Replaced
And in the doing of what needs to be done
It will be made better, stronger
And I will be better, stronger
I have learned from this
I will take away what it has taught me
And not let it hold me back
I will not let it drown me
I will rise up
Thank God that I can still move on
And do just that.
Each day gets a little easier
And the sun breaks through
And guides my healing heart.
