My thoughts, rants, activities, etc. |
I think I'm going to try and do two prompts per day, maybe more if I really feel like it. I think it'll be good for me. 1. How do you feel about winter? How do I feel about winter? Such a silly question to ask me. I love winter. I love the snow (well, if we get any ), the chill in the air, when you don't turn your heat on and you're freezing, so you get to cuddle under your blankets, the Christmas music, decorations...so much happens in winter! I loved sledding in Michigan, but sadly we don't get enough snow for that here. But last year I decided to play hockey on the driveway that was covered in ice. I found a stick from a tree that was kind of shaped like a hockey stick and I used a tennis ball. Don't judge. Winter has got to be my favorite season, fall coming in close second. For some reason, the cloudy skies and chilly weather always get my muse up and running much more than a sunny day. It thrives on images of dark and dreary, survival, etc. (Is that wrong? ) And in the winter I go outside much more because it's not so damn hot! To be honest, I'll take flannel weather over please dump ice over my head I'm dying from the heat. Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but in the summer I rarely go outside. Screw that shit. Anyway...I think you get my point. 2. Do you love or hate Christmas? Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. Now, I'm not a Christian anymore, but that doesn't stop me from celebrating it. To me it's all about family and spending time together. I know, I know. Cheesy. Shut up. And since I volunteer at the animal control center here now, it's so nice to see animals going to loving homes, especially around Christmas. Two cats were adopted yesterday, and they are the sweetest things. Anyway, I digress. We don't have a tree anymore, but I think this year we're going to do a book tree again. That was pretty cool last year. Alright, I'll do one more. Even though it's late. Because I'm bored. 3. Do Your Test Scores Reflect How Good Your Teachers Are? In my opinion no. Test scores, again, in my opinion, show how much they shove information down our throats until we either remember it, or we fail. The things I've taken tests on, most of the material is stuff I don't remember. Besides, many of the kids that take tests (I said most not all, calm down) cheat. I don't believe I ever had because if I tried it I'd get caught. Plus some of my teachers scared me when they got mad. Especially my 8th grade English teacher. I love her to bits though. I was one of her favorites. Anyway, going off on tangents again I see. And it's not the teachers fault. They have to prepare us for tests. I feel bad for them honestly. I know they took the job but still. It's stressful on them too! I hate tests. |
