Counting Stars

I'm counting stars,
I'm counting my blessings,
I'm leaving behind yesterday's fears
along with the tears.


I'm counting stars,
I'm counting the lessons
of wounds that have healed
and left behind battle scars
from yesterday's wars.

I'm counting stars
instead of my worries;
I'm counting my blessings
instead of money
that I don't have.

I'm counting stars,
I'm counting my blessings,
I'm letting go
of yesterday's mistakes
while learning the meaning
of forgiveness and grace.
