Close Rampant intellectualism is as unhealthy and dangerous as rampant materialism. Knowledge and studies that lead us astray from our basic nature can soil and ruin our original heart.
Our basic nature is as pure and clear as the endless skies and not a bit different from that of Buddha. But in order to manifest that nature, we must rid ourselves of false knowledge and learning.
Even the most precious jewels placed on a mirror prevent it from reflecting perfectly; and the more we add to the mirror surface, the dimmer the eye becomes. So let's rid ourselves totally of false knowledge and learning that keep the eye obstructed and let's return to our original nature. We have to open the eye wide if we wish to see the Great Light.
