Prayer, Literature
Prompt: Jacques Derrida in the Ear Of The Other, writes: "Prayer works for many people: sometimes therapy works for me but literature has really been the most reliable way for me to access emotion."
What is your best take on the quote? Do you get emotional with some of what you read or does your reading encourage you to discover different emotions for specific subjects?

I pray about everything. I do personal entries in my hand written journals and this helps me express my emotions. I love writing. I enjoy writing about a world and things I can give a happy ending to. I get emotional about things I write. You have to include a little drama. Reading others works does get me emotional and I am inspired by what I read as it gives me an incentive to write things. I have written a few religious items.

I love writing as the character. Once I wrote I was Mary Magdalene and became closer to God. I wrote as Marie Antionette, Anne Boelyn, Genevere and I was happy with the results. I wrote as being a couple of characters from "Twilight" and I feel more in tune with the characters when I write as them.

I enjoy writing other items and writing of any kind is good therapy. As a writer, you need that. Sometimes, my muse leaves but I am sure she will be back.

A gift from a member. Audrey Hepburn and her pet deer.
