To Feel the Cool

How wonderful to feel the cool
relief from summer's heat!
It helps the spirit know renew'l.
What gift is this day's treat!

October 1st brought change in temp
and Joy to sweltered hearts!
'Twas time to work on yard's unkempt
and cluttered, viney parts.

Awake I have amid the breeze
to work on my domain.
Restoring looks to my mind please.
New hope is truly plain.

With days of cool and colder come
relief! I've much to do!
What Joy! What thrill! What Hope in sum!
The warmth of tea, when through!

Some creatures may just hibernate
the whole of winter's days,
But life for me is fully great
with lower Mercury displays!

I estivate in summer's heat.
I try to move about,
but water vapor seems to beat
my steps in any route.

This cool and cold make Joy to dance!
How lightly steps arise!
As wean-ed ponies love to prance
the cool days are my prize!
