Summertime Memories

Prompt: What are some of your best summertime memories?


I spent every summer with my grandparents. I enjoyed walking in their woods, going to the County Fair and I loved getting The Weekly Reader in the summertime. Grandma and Grandpa took me to the Smoky Mountains and I loved seeing the mountains. I did see a couple of black bears in cages but they should have been free.

Grandma and I would go to church and we made noodles one time for a benefit. I was in Youth Group and that was fun.

I would stay with my cousin and we would go to her basement and play school. Her parents had 4 school desks in the basement and a blackboard. She wasn't home schooled. They had a pet spider monkey and he was cute and friendly. He would run free for a few hours and entertain us.

The one friend I stayed with, we would watch Dark Shadows, the original series and bake cookies. Those were fun days.
