March 12 - Walter D. White - The Man Who Thinks He Can!
March 12, 2018
This poem is for men and women, but it is called:

The Man Who Thinks He Can!

Walter D. White

If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't!
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch that you won't.

If you think that you'll lose, you're lost
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in a state of mind!

If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself
Before you can win the prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the strongest or fastest man;
But sooner or later the who wins
Is the man who thinks he can!

This has that 'think you can, you will; think you can't you won't' saying I believe Henry Ford is quoted to have said. It is a quote I like to give me students - one that lets them know they are in charge of their learning. Here is the actual quote:

"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.”
― Henry Ford

I am tired of people blaming things on circumstances or other things outside of themselves. It all comes down to attitude and the belief that you can do it. Have a little faith and work hard at it.... things will have a way of working out in your favour.
