Cruelest Lies, Silence

Prompt: The cruelest lies are those get lost in silence.

I had boyfriends break up with me but not face to face. My uncle had told my grandma that a boyfriend Dave and I broke up. Dave didn't bother to tell me. Nice. He just didn't call or come over.

My friend Diane couldn't wait to tell me that my boyfriend Julian tore up a note I had written him. His sister had been doing laundry, found out and Julian tore it up. I talked to my friend Teri about it and she talked to Julian. He admitted it and was sorry. Diane wouldn't talk to me. She told another friend who confronted me. Diane didn't have to be cruel about it. We made up and Julian and I broke up but Diane loved telling a guy that I liked him and if he didn't like me back, well, she loved it.

Sometimes, we don't tell someone a secret to spare their feelings. We should never hurt someone on purpose. We shouldn't be cruel. It is better to tell someone the truth then suffer in silence. I think so anyway.
