Redeemed Ronsardian Ode: "Ode to Goodness"
The thoughts of most are fleeting thoughts of Earth.
What owe we Good?
The hopes of heart find solace in New Birth.
What's bought with Could?
That Goodness mirrors all that's truly God
brings silence to the heart that's fully awed.
We owe Him all
for gracious call,
with naught to pay, but loving laud.
The days of life are marred by ev'ry sin.
Goodness erased
the sadness caused by falling in its gin.
The new way traced.
This sinning soul no strength to lift me out.
The Savior's strength has saved me without doubt.
Thank Goodness now
with lasting bow.
His Grace has turned my life about.
No minor good can I withhold from Man
so made by Grace.
This gratitude is part of loving plan.
What vital place!
All human good reflects the good of God.
No praise we seek. We only God applaud.
For Goodness He
doth sinners free
to daily stand before Him awed.
