The People will Die
By Lisa Noe
When the people die by man’s own hand
Because they’re different, and take a stand;
It brings tears to this girl’s eyes, to know so
Many adults and children had to die.
I can’t believe a person’s greed, or their aversion
To another man’s creed.
Skin of black or red, yellow or white.
Religious beliefs can set us apart,
so many leaders thought They were smart.
Many suffer a fate like hell,
In a place they’d rather not dwell.
Humankind can touch your heart,
or they can tear your World apart.
Starvation, burning, shootings too,
Men won’t stop until they are through.
I don’t like prejudice or hate,
It makes me worry about my own fate.
Who could say which group is next,
Or which leader will put us to the test.
Help us Lord we need your hand,
To pull this world out of quicksand.
We’re falling fast because of man’s fear,
Of another who is different, that’s clear.
Some of us are loving and caring,
But there are those who are evil, and daring.
Touch those who call upon Your name,
Even if our religions aren’t the same.
