Heaven’s Gate By Lisa Noe I lay afraid and all alone In my lone hospital bed As the sun has brightly shown I dream to myself, I am dead I follow the light that shown bright Where I see a golden gate What a surprise, it is a sight I saw Him, He said, “It’s fate.” It was my most precious daddy you see He told me, “You must always be with me.” The Ravenfly is a decastitch (ten-line poem) invented by Amanda J. Norton, writing on the Allpoetry website. The ten lines are broken into two quatrains with an alternating syllable and rhyme pattern of 8a,7b,8a,7b 8c,7d,8c,7d followed by a rhyming couplet with 10 syllables per line, four time Quill winner |
