Bio (19 poems)
1
Gold Tooth

I love the feel of the smooth gold in my mouth!
Behind my smiling lips,
My tongue
         caresses,
         fondles,
         embraces it.

2
Winter's Child

I'm Winter's child
born in late December.

At home
among the snow drifts
of winter's coldest monht.

I'm a Capricorn
born on Christmas Eve.

Long star filled nights
comfort, inspire, and ignite
my soul's banked fires.

3
My Name

Secretly,
I know my name is Prosperous Snow:
The meaning of my middle
and first name.

Snow is the unique results of frozen raindrops,
and Prosperous is my soul's ability
to inspire and be inspired.

4
Hot Bath

The hot bath water
warms the air around my tub
creates a tropical zone.

5
Coffee Instructor

I learned to drink coffee
from my Grandfather!

He drink his coffee strong
and it got stronger
as the day passed,
because it set heating
and reheating
in the electric percolator
with the basket of coffee grounds
still in it.

6
Morning

Cats purr in each ear
morning's melody echoes
dawn prayers intoned.

7
On the Night I Was Born

I was born on Tuesday evening, December 24, 1946, at the hospital in Blackwell, Oklahoma. I was the second child my mother was impregnated with, and the first child she carried to term. The night I was born was cold, but without snow, which was unusual for Christmas Eve in Oklahoma.
Everyone who saw me that night, and the days following remarked on how much I looked like my mother. My Grandfather Newland asked Mom if my ankles were crossed. That was because when my mother was a baby she would cross her legs at the ankles. Whem my grandparents uncrossed them, she would cross them back again. My feet were crossed at the ankles.

8
Waking Up

A change
occurred between
the time I fell asleep
and the time I woke up;
between my last Ya Baha'u'l-Abha
of the evening
and my first of the morning--
What changed?

9
Earthquake

The carefully choreographed wave passed
rocking the city,
         the building
         and my bed.

10
Neva Darbe
Ana- Gram
Bread Vane

The Word of God is the bread of life,
Without it my soul is a vane blown by the winds of strife.

11
Motivation

I write as compelled by my Lord!
Echoing the sphere' vibrations,
I paraphrase reality's song.

Intoning the Beloved's words,
I write as compelled by my Lord,
Restating unity's verses.

12
I Get Nervous

I always get a little nervous,
when I start a new job.
Even if it's with the same company.

13
Eyes of a Cat

It is her eyes that tell the story.
The calm acceptance of love;
Her joy at my presence rumbles in her throat,
But its is her eyes that reveal her true feelings
As she lays with them closed on my lap
Or watches me from a shelf.

14
Writing Poetry

I am compelled to write,
The words come to me as lovers;
As lovers they tantalize and seduce,
Making me their willing slave,
Until I master the art of their seduction.

15
My First Night in My Own Home

The long absence of corporal creatures
chills the air,
mutes the whispers of matter.

Rising on the empty air
prayers resonate
fill the silent hours.

16
Car Theft

Brain fried
from sniffing paint
the joy riding thief raped
my privacy and abducted
my car.

17
My Name In Print

Seeing my name in newsprint
Sends chills up my spine!
Is this my thirty seconds of fame
Or is that saved for another time?

18
Acceptance

I accept myself as I am!

Dual natured creature that I am:
I accept responsibility
fro my choices!

I am
responsible for developing
my own virtues!

19
Morning Coffee

I inhale the robust scent of morning,
as I intone the Most Great Name of God.

Word by word my spirit sips salvation,
cup by cup my soul wakes in paradise.
