We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life. |
Dr. Seuss is my friend. Oh, I really must say, "Thank you, Sir, for the laughs, and the beauteous play!" With your Cat in the Hat and green eggs on the plate reading skips on the tongue. The event is just great!" "'Twas you're Christmas with Grinch made us learn it's a cinch, that the day made of self will bring joy, not an inch, but a heart, that doth grow makes us quickly to know ev'ry gift made of love is the best without show." Now, each time I would write with a rhythm and rhyme, using anapest cadence with beauty sublime, I must chuckle within for the tones of this feat harken t'ward this good doctor's incredible treat. Do you like making words, that would help us to read? Do you like taking trips on boats, trains or a steed? Do you think, that a child's dancing laughter and joy is where your writing skills should make lasting employ? Then embrace anapest and impress all your friends for each merriment day brings a heart hopes to tend. If you're wondering how we could ever go back to the days of disgrace in which joy was at lack, then I'd urge you, my friend, to move forward and bless each lone soul with a tear, living life in a mess. For depression just melts when you speak anapest. Every mouth curls a smile as you blather a jest. Were all days made of sunshine and loved ones to kiss, were all nights made of joy and great treasures of bliss, then our lives would all be wondrous health without end as our creative crayons on paper would blend. But while life has its ups and its downs and its flips, we must help others back to their feet after trips. If we learn how to speak anapest with the tongue, then our names will bring hope with each song, that we've sung. Author’s Note: This was written for the January 2020 round of "Rhythm & Rhyme: Poetry/Lyrics Challenge" Day 4 Prompt: Create your own poetry form written in anapestic meter **Dr. Seuss has been a great inspiration for me. His repeated phonemes have helped me to understand and improve my reading and speaking abilities and on top of that my writing abilities as well. Though Dr. Seuss has written in other meters throughout his books of poetry, it is anapest for which he is most remembered in my heart. Proverbs 17:22 expresses it this way, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." Few dispense such health to my heart as consistently as Dr. Seuss.** {/dropnote} |
