I know you're boss, both at home and work, may call you this week. Please place your phones in vibrate mode. If it rings, feel free to answer it. But as you do, head for the door so you don't disturb others.

During each session, we will spend ten minutes creating in our journals to a given prompt. Then we will review the previous session’s lessons and assignments. After this, we will delve into the subject matter for the session we are attending.

However, before we dive into such the rich subject of journaling, I would like to take this first session to go through a brief orientation that will cover:

         •  What is expected of students;
         •  What students can expect of instructors;
         •  What you can expect to gain from this course;
         •  Introductions;
         •  Schedules and locations;
         •  Dress code;
         •  Journaling survey;
         •  Supply policy;
         •  Gift Certificates;
         •  Definitions.

Journaling can be fun. You will feel your creative side being unleashed, for the more you write, the more you find there’s things you want, or have, to say or write about. You’ll receive feedback from not only me, but from other participants. You may find yourself making new friends, learning new skills, and finding that there is a moment of time in each day for you to relax and enjoy yourself. I look forward to seeing you in class!
