As Midnight Comes

As midnight comes we close the day
of tasks to do and words to say.
We cherish dreams through restful hours
of flying clouds and shady bowers.

As midnight comes we hope for peace,
reduction of this Woe's increase.
We pray for healthy days' return,
and kindness in these days have learned.

As midnight comes engulfed by dark,
"Oh, Lord, cause fear to disembark
and turn this ship to a better course.
Sustain us with Your great Resource."

As midnight comes the new we see
to leave the past our way to free.
Prepare us for Eternity,
that Your great Glory grows.

"As midnight comes, Lord, make us new.
Please, daily fit us more for You,
that when this life is finally through
Your Joy in us we'll know."

As midnight comes great Hope is found.
Your Light in darkness doth abound.
Your children can't be held in the ground,
our freedom's always near.

As midnight comes we close the day.
Our deeds are done in Your Call obeyed.
Our hearts are full, on You they're stayed,
the One we hold so dear.
