New Heart, New Spirit

The greatest gift within a heart
is newness by God made.
We have no strength to make this start,
nor that God be obeyed.

Each stony, stubborn, hardened heart
is crusted o'er by Sin,
but when the new, Christ doth impart,
His Victory we win.

The Spirit of this loving Lord
is Holy, Right, and True.
The human spirit, by his Word
is changed and loving, new.

Obey we now the Lord of All,
not forced by servitude,
but willingly through His Blest Call,
no more of self-will rude.

"Please, make this world a safer place.
Enthrone the Prince of Peace,
that when You end this Day of Grace,
Your Peace will never cease."
