Identity Theft

Identity Theft

You took from me everything I own,
But yet I feel I’ve grown.
I will express my tears
And suppress my fears.

I trusted you to no avail
Now I feel as if I’ve failed.
God is in my life and changed my soul,
All of my feelings have hit a low.

Giving thanks to Him for my life
Regardless of all my strife.
I will go on with my life, forgetting you,
This is something I must do,.

You tried to change me and make me bad
But all you accomplished is making me sad.
Joy is something I strive to find
I will leave my thoughts of you behind.
