My American Dream

My American Dream

I have a dream or maybe two
To travel the USA with you
I’ve never been to California
Perhaps Las Angeles, to start a formula
I’d lay upon a sandy beach
Keeping myself out of reach
Maybe go up north a bit
To see a desert, where I’d dance and flit
Go on over to Las Vegas, Nevada
Win a bit of money, and eat a tostada
I’ve been to Texas, but I can’t recall
In Amarillo, I was born and all.
Then I’d head to the east coast
New York is the state I want to see most
To see the sites, and shop the stores
This is a place I would never get bored.
I’d then head to Washington DC
This is a place I’ve once seen.
But not everything the place offers
I want to see the zoo. It's a show stopper.
Visit the White House, the Capital too
I’ve seen Monuments and Arlington, I walked through
I want to go to the Smithsonian, there is so much to do.
I love this country oh so much, from sea to shining sea
From Miami to Chicago, Maine, and New Orleans.
From The Space Needle to Saint Paul Cathedral,
It is a pleasurable sight to see, Mountains, seas, grass so green
America you're a sight to see, you are the most beautiful I’ve seen.
