I Write In 2020

The Gift of 2020

2020 has had its challenges
its rising death tolls
its anxiety and peril
the economy has ground to a halt
and hissed with added weight
as people reach out for help
to stay afloat on a sea of insecurity
some of us have managed fine
introverts with writing dreams
time has given us a gift
to create and let our voices sing
to capture the times
in images caught in words
we reflect the world
and find the beauty
within the Covid pandemic
the silver lining
that points to stronger connections
rekindled relationships
and a new resilience
as we learn to roll
with the changing times.
we are in this together
and I believe
we will be stronger
for it.
