WELCOME TO: GEMINI RISING ![]() UPDATED INTRO 30 JUNE 2025: Just a little about me. I've been married for 33 years this past NOV and currently live in Southern California, but I grew up in New Hampshire. me in my 20's I've got 2 boys who are young adults. ![]() I work as a 911 dispatcher for LAPD. I enjoy my job a lot. Still. If you can believe that. I love to write. Thankfully both of my boys achieved Eagle Scout. My Scouting days are over and I'm back to focusing on my writing. I like to get out in nature, drink coffee and watch football. Here's a little bio about my zodiac. GEMINI: Gemini, the sign of the Twins, is dual-natured, elusive, complex and contradictory. On the one hand it produces the virtue of versatility, and on the other the vices of two-facedness and flightiness. The sign is linked with Mercury, the planet of childhood and youth, and its subjects tend to have the graces and faults of the young. When they are good, they are very attractive; when they are bad they are more the worse for being the charmers they are. Like children they are lively, and happy, if circumstances are right for them, or egocentric, imaginative and restless. Their good qualities are attractive and come easily to them. They are affectionate, courteous, kind, generous, and thoughtful towards the poor and suffering - provided none of the activities resulting from expressing these traits interferes too greatly with their own lives and comforts. Geminians can be successful in many walks of life though their general characteristics tend to make them unreliable. They are often skilled manipulators of language, in speech and writing, and may be: debaters, diplomats (though in politics they are more interested in theory than practice), orators, preachers (brilliant rather than profound), teachers, authors, poets, journalists, or lawyers. #1 - The Soundtrack of 2025 Gosh, when does music become numb to you? And honestly, I wasn't sure how to ask the question. It's rhetorical of course, but I haven't listened - seriously listened to modern music since Adele released 21 in 2011. Since then, I have not found music compelling to listen to, which is sad in a way because I think we all connect to music growing up, in our teens and as young adults. Maybe that's where music leaves it mark. I just do not find the music of the modern age compelling. Not in the beats, not in the lyrics, and not in the creativity. And yet a whole generation has been inspired by music from 2011 on. Maybe music is generational? It's worth studying. What was my soundtrack for 2025? Aurora by Daisy Jones and the Six Christmas Music (you can always count on Christmas music) Johnny Cash Roseanne Cash Blue Oyster Cult Most of them are old favorites that I found myself listening to again to find strength in adversity, to lift me up, or just to find a lighthearted moment to let myself go. I like Christmas music for the uplifting, inspirational message. I like Blue Oyster Cult when I just want to let myself go and sing at the top of my lungs. I like Roseanne Cash (The Wheel) when I'm a little moody. I like Johnny Cash when I went to find strength in the face of adversity. I like Aurora when I just want to listen to something. Lately on my blog I've shared "Hazy of Shade of Winter," by Simon and Garfunkel and the Bangles. I think it's been hitting a chord with me especially with "Time, Time, Time, see what's become of me..." How introspective we get with age. If I could sum up the Soundtrack of 2025 with one song? Tough. Here you go: ROSEANNE CASH -- The Wheel |
