I finally have had a bit of luck. I managed to sell two editorials. Not much, but doing it!

February closed on a good note, for my writing at least. I started a new project, and made my monthly goals.

Some days I wonder why I write. I stumble over my words. I can't find the. I can't focus. But in the end, I do it and enjoy it just the same.

Have you ever felt like everything is a struggle when it comes to your writing? That's the way that I feel lately. I am trying hard to break into writing as a career, but I'm having a hard time finding places that want what I am used to writing.

What do you do when you hit that big road block in your brain that says to you, "NO! You are not writing today."

I have daily goals that I need to make, I can slack for one day but I have to make it up later in the week and that doesn't always work so well. I can not afford to have -0- word days. I not in such a short month, like this one is.

The month is half over and I should be at more than 9,000 words and I'm barely at 8000. So what do you do?

This is the second time writing this post. *grump*

On January 1, 2006, I started a new venture. I joined with several other people in a year long writing adventure called NaNoWriYe. You spend the entire year working towards a goal that you set for yourself. You can choose from as little as 50,000 words up to 3,000,000 words.

Personally, I joined at the 250,000 word level. This is an average of 685 words per day or 4,795 words per week. This, to me, isn't an outrageous idea. It takes focus and discipline and it strengthens the writers abilities.

Normally, I write mostly erotica, but with this I have been doing a series of non-erotic short stories, along with 2 erotica novellas and an erotic-bdsm story collection.

Now, rather than working on my novella's, I have spent far more time working on both short story collections. I have been unable to find my focus and desire to work with my novella characters. Perhaps, I should have waited on the collections.

So far, I am on target for the year, however. Which is good. Perhaps when I get further, I will focus on my novellas.

Current Word Count: 31,003/250,000
