I guess it's been a while since I've started this blog and after it's done I doubt I will write on here anymore. I guess I'll see where things take me then.
Yeah, you can get advice from other people, but in the end, it's up to you to do what's best for your kids. I bet you won't be indecisive when it comes to them!
There are so many times that I wish I were more like that and decisive!
It's funny becuase the whole time I'm reading your comment I'm thinking "I bet when I become a mother being indecisive will change." Haha. I hope so anyway. I can't see myself NOT being crazy-decisive over my babies needs. I don't want to be so indecisive that I do what everyone else around me tells me to do regarding my own children.
Sadly, I am one of the people who decides to take over and make the decision for everyone when people are indecisive. My husband is of the "I don't really care/I really don't mind" mindset. Me? Drives me nuts. So as always, I say "fine, we're going THIS way then," and drag everyone that way, kicking and screaming if I have to.
I'm nice about decisions usually...I give everyone a say, but in the end, Mama's say means EVERYTHING, and whatever votes were cast mean much less as compared to what I'm up for (such as making dinner, going out, etc.) and what everyone else's mindset is.
Say we're deciding if we want to go out shopping that night. If I don't feel like getting out of pajamas or taking a shower that day, then it's a no go, no matter how many people in the house want to go. If I decide I want to go, I'll give Don the option of going with me, or staying home. Either way, my mind is made up. Don doesn't mind either way, so whatever I decide is usually the way we go.
Same for dinner. If we have a variety of things to make, I'll give out options and take in votes. Usually, I get 2-3 different votes, so in the end I have to decide which vote I'm going with. And then, through all of that, I decide if I feel up to cooking it or not. Some nights I'm not in the mood to put in all the effort that meatloaf and mashed potatoes make, so I rule that out from the get go and tell them to pick something else.
You may not be a decisive person now, but if you decide to go the route of motherhood, you may just become a decisive creature after all, because you have to make decisions for a helpless baby that doesn't even know what it needs.
Thanks for all the advice! Makes me feel better. I don't know how many times I can re-write all this stuff down before I feel 100% confident. The outfit in my carry on is a really good idea lol. We have to dress nice. For the meetings anyway. But I heard (not sure if it's true) that since we have to take a train from the airport to our hotel that it's recommended that we pack as little as possible. So, Just 2 or 3 pairs of pants and like 5 shirts maybe! I'll mess something up, I'm sure lol
Very exciting times going on! A lot of traveling going on for you! I hope you have a fantastic time!
I would call the airline and see what they say you can bring on or not. Pack simply; pants can be worn another day (if no accidents happen), so be sure to pack a shirt a day, plus 2 extras, and maybe 3 pairs of pants? That's what I pack. Oh, and always pack at least one outfit in your overnight bag that goes with you in the cabin of the plane, just in case they lose your luggage, so you're not out of luck if that happens. Is there a certain way you have to dress for your Switzerland trip? Like business, business casual, casual...? If you have to pack jewelery, be sure to pack it in your overnight bag, and pajamas as well. Ummmm...well, I think that's all the traveling tips I can think of right now! LOL. Oh, and don't carry ANYTHING in your pockets, not even a chapstick...throw that in your overnight bag. And make sure you wear shoes that are easy on/easy off for security. I'm not necessarily saying "no tie", I'm just saying something that's not going to take you forever to get off and on. And....yep, I think that's about it.
Take lots of pictures! I hope you get to see some parts of the country, and not just be trapped in seminars and meetings!
And also, enjoy your fun there in your home state as well! It's been forever since I went to a theme park. Have a good time!
You just have to remember that the meds are what's making you feel normal again. Once you go off them, the normal goes away. I'm really scared to try and find that out without my bipolar meds, if only because the withdrawal I go through when I'm even LATE taking my meds is enough to freak me out. I venture a guess that I would be visiting the ER if ever I forget to take my pills. I'm glad going off Zoloft is easy for you, but definitely, once you and Ben are married, if you feel that it helps you, get back on it.
Don't be afraid to take up their offer again! And if they're being loners themselves, don't be afraid to invite them! People who are like you make good company, unless you're psychotic, a drama queen, or just a bad person period.
I've been on Zoloft before and it really helped a lot. It helped me think clearly and keep my emotions in check. When we get married and I get on Ben's insurance, I'm thinking I'm going to do it again. I always ended up going off it because I felt better and thought I didn't need it anymore!
Having friends around here would be nice! I'm just such...a loner! LOL
Before I was on meds, I used to get sad for no reason too, and it killed Don to see me that way. He'd do everything he could to cheer me up. I explained to him that it wasn't anything in particular that I was upset about, it was just something I go through, just down time. Now we know that if I'm feeling upset for no reason, my mood stabilizers aren't working properly. LOL.
I'm glad that you went out with those girls and had a good time! You should try to eat with them again, and see if you all have a good time again. It could become a good habit, and you might make some good friends along the way.
