I just got a call for a job interview!! It's at the same university where my sister works, the place I've been applying to for two years now! Finally!!

Well, I have to call back and schedule the interview. (I was in the shower when she called) I was this close to getting a job at a factory or gas station. (Well, I will be getting a job at one of those places if this one doesn't work out)

Hooray! Now I'll just be praying I get this job! *Smile*

EDIT:

Oh, and I won't know about the doctor thing until next week. They don't think it's blood clots, but they did some tests, anyway.

*gazes up at all that pretty snow*

Don't you just love that banner up there? I know I do! Makes me feel all toasty inside. *Smile*

So I'm going to the doctor today because I have calf pain. I've read I'm supposed to take calf pain very seriously because it just might be blood clots.

When I made the appointment yesterday, a few strange things happened:

The receptionist asked what religion she should put on my chart. Why does that matter?

She also informed me that the doctor does not prescribe narcotics and she was required to let me know before I can in. She asked, "Is that alright?" First, of course it's alright. I don't even like taking ibuprofen (not that it helped this time anyway), but secondly, have you ever heard of this before?

I've never heard of a doctor not prescribing something! Makes me wonder if it's really he's not allowed to prescribe narcotics...

They also wanted records faxed from my normal doctor, but I don't have one. I'm a little nervous about doctors. Can you tell?

No takers on Christmas cards, huh? But it'd make me really happy to send you one, even if I don't know you that well. Maybe you all just don't like giving out your addresses. That's cool. I understand. Someone should start up a C-Note Christmas card list/group! I wonder if there already is one...

I'll let you know how the doctor thing goes.

I'm sending out Christmas cards very soon. If you'd like one, send me your address! (Via email)

I think I have a couple from last year, but send 'em again, anyway if you'd like one. *Smile*

So I finished last night. I'm pretty sure I replied to all the comments, but I wanted to thank everyone once again for the congrats!

The feeling after finishing NaNo is similar to graduating from college. I found myself used to strict schedules, hard work and deadlines. Now, I'm free to do anything, and that's a little scary... *Laugh*

So I made a to-do list to keep myself busy. Now's the time to clean the house since I was too busy writing for the past 25 days to clean it properly.

I'd like to take a few days off before I start editing the novel. I just don't want to wait too long like I did last year. I still haven't started editing last year's novel... Oops! *Blush*

So now that NaNo is finished for me, I suppose it's time to move on to the next big excitement: Christmas

Yay!! *Bigsmile*

I love Christmas!

There's no greater motivation than knowing your twin is ahead.

The story isn't done yet, but my word count is 50,128.

I should be writing more. I just can't seem to make myself write now that I'm so close to the end. I've written about 500 words today, and I'm really close to 47k.

But I'm making Christmas cookies. I can't write now! *Laugh*

Oh, alright. I'll try to reach 47k tonight at least.

I was in bed, almost asleep, when suddenly I realized I hadn't blogged today. Seems like a silly reason to get up out of bed, but now here I am.

I didn't write at all today or yesterday. I think I can afford a break.

Of course now that I'm up, maybe I'll try to write just a little...

Well, I managed to write just over 700 words yesterday, putting my word count in the 44k range. I figured that's pretty good for writing on Thanksgiving.

Of course today won't be much better. We're putting up Christmas decorations and probably going shopping today.

I only need 389 words to reach 45k, though, so I'll try to do that right now before my day actually starts. I'm finding that my best writing times are in the morning and right before I go to bed.

It was my goal to finish by Sunday (that's when you can start uploading your document for a final WC at the NaNo sites), but I'm not sure that will happen. 5k in 3 days is perfectly doable, but I'm liking being able to slow down a bit and relax.

You may be wondering what I'm doing awake at 3:42am on Thanksgiving morning. Hell, I'm wondering the same thing! *Laugh*

For some reason, when I go to bed before 10pm, I tend to wake up at 3am. *shrugs*

So today's Thanksgiving, and among a ton of other things, I'm thankful for my family. I plan to use them today as inspiration. In my novel, I'm about to write a scene where a woman/werewolf comes upon the pack of wild werewolves that turned her years before (and murdered her entire family, by the way) eating dinner together. I'm hoping to use the family dinner today as inspiration for the one in my novel.

Yeah, I know I'm comparing my family to a pack of evil, wild wolves. *Laugh*

Here's hoping for high word counts today and for the rest of November! *Smile*

(I'm going to be so tired later....)

Today's topic - dirty tricks. I suppose most of us use them in some way or another. We have little tricks to up our word count. Mine tend to be dream sequences or trips to psychics (where they do a long tarot reading, so I can describe each card and its meaning). Lengthy descriptions, pointless dialogue, repetition, etc. All good ploys to get more words.

But when does it go too far?

Some I've seen in the NaNo forums include having characters recite Wikipedia articles, sing entire songs (with lyrics not written by the NaNo author), the entire song "99 bottles of beer on the wall" which is apprently about 3k words, and even including a completely unrelated short story.

For me, most of those are going too far. Last year, I included excerpts from a text book and I still feel bad about it! *Laugh*

I'm happy that I'm using hardly any tricks this year! I've had no dream sequences, no pointless sex scenes (how dull, right?), and only one tarot reading (though it was important to the plot... at least I think it was...).

I reached 42k yesterday, and so far today I've written just over 600 words. I'm hoping to finish by Sunday. *Smile*
