My mind and my life are wonderous things ... as are yours, I'm sure. I have more slips of paper and pages of notebooks with musings and thoughts than I really know what to do with. Someone, actually several someones, have suggested I start a blog ... or a journal as a means of focusing some of this mental energy.
To be honest, I don't even know what the difference between a 'journal' and 'blog' is--or if there even is a difference. Read on, my friends, and you can judge for yourself whether it even matters.
And so....
I'm JACE. Yep ... that's me! And somewhere in all my writings my last name may be posted. But I'll just leave it at Jace for right now. I'm 70 years old and heading full tilt to 71. It's strange that while I'm going through some rather serious medical issues, I still consider myself to be in the prime of my life--pretty good shape physically AND mentally, though I don't run for competition anymore . I love to ... dang, if I put this stuff here, I won't have anything for my blog.
Guess you just have to be patient until such stuff leaks out. Perhaps 2025, having embraced my retirement, will see more participation in my journaling efforts.
I remember my PT times varied, but I want to say the earliest we started was about 6 or 6:30 depending on the unit. I've been working on my step challenge this month and I have to go early because it's California and California is hot. I need to start walking by 7:30. This week has been good though. Hasn't really gotten scorching - and it's been in the high 80's to mid 90's.
Procrastination? I'm pretty sure I'm the Captain of that team! I do have 'just' two projects to work on right now. You know how Procrastination is though. I always find something else I can do instead. Writing? About the only writing I do is completing reviews, and posting in either my blog, or someone else's blog. I should get off my you-know-what and just write. I do have a few, very vague ideas about stories, but they are very vague. Hopefully I'll figure things out soon and get going. Goals would help, I tried setting them. Then, it was Procrastination time..... So I survive, not as a writer, as a person.
JACE, I think sending a polite review, even if it's a negative one with recommendations for corrections is best. If I'm writing something negative in a review, I always include something positive to be built on. I too have not been blocked because of a review. I was blocked by a member long ago, I forget who it was, and why. It was over something silly, not a review.
Sum1 - I've always enjoyed reviewing, even while I was working. I think the number of reviewing group to which I belong attests to that. Working for myself allowed my indulgence. But I was curious about what a bare minimum reviewing schedule might look like. Now I know. And to your last statement--no one has blocked me for doing reviews. I do try and be diplomatically helpful.
Lazy Writer est 4/24/2008 - Indeed you can. Two years ago I earned enough GPs in eight months to pay for my Premium membership ... just from reviewing.
🌻 pwheeler ~ love joy peace - Actually, I was trying to prove to myself what a minimum review schedule might offer. And to show folks that anyone can do this. You know--looks like both Jim and I are chasing you on the review rolls.
Off to check out the Old Settler's Day festivities at Waynesville, Missouri, featuring a Civil War reenactment and Duck races on the Roubidoux Creek. My son, granddaughter and son's girlfriend are up from Texas visiting. Should be a fun day.
Gonna be a hot one today, though--sunscreen and hats recommended.
