...From the tintinnabulation that so musically wells
From the bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells
From the jingling and the tinkling of the bells...
(Phil Ochs)
...Ding, dong, ding, dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All caroling...
(Mykola Leontovych)
My inquiring mind is itching to know how the family meal went. I have a nephew who traditional does this broil on New Year’s Day. I was there once. No sides. I loved the potatoes and corn. I don’t like fish. I did eat lobster once in Mexico after drinking enough wine to give it no identifiable taste other than the taste of the dripping butter I dipped it in.
Hi! I am tracker. have been reading your blog tonight. I am to send you a badge in the birthday badge exchange. I don’t believe I have seen you around so came over to see what’s cookin’
Squirrels don't like daffodils either. We used to plant them next to the tulips to keep the furry tails from digging them up. We also had wisteria that would spread everywhere and it would send roots underground and quickly pop up nearby if we didn't pay attention.
It's amazing how many little flyers there are to come by for a visit and maybe a snack, but they leave the plants intact.
I remember having a garden. These days I just have houseplants and one lonely portulaca that came up by seed and has bloomed this past week. I've been "home" for three months and the plants have responded well. But, I long for Thailand.
I water often. Montana is mostly hot and dry in the Summer.
Of the five things you wrote that you believe about yourself, the last two far outweigh the first three. I've not read many things you've written but I intend to do so, very soon. What I have read makes me believe one thing about you --- that you're a pretty remarkable person.
As for me, I don't believe anything at all about myself, because I lie to me too much. I don't make New Year Resolutions, but I have made one new life resolution. I am resolved to keep living until I die. It sounds like you've made a similar resolution. I'm glad I've met you.
Ahhhh. The wonders of the modern world . Isn't it funny how we take things like electricity and plumbing for granted... until we don't have them. Happy for you!
Einstein, Aristotle, Honest Abe, Davey Crockett
ok, I see a problem.... the first two would talk to each other, you'd be odd one out,
the second two would talk together, and again you'd be odd one out! LOL
Maybe invite Mary and Martha from the Bible...
except which one would you get stuck with? LOL
I would say you are on target, Go for it. I have always said the Grim Reaper will need to sneak up behind me and catch me of guard. And then I will wrestle him.
It's the petty things that drive us crazy. Now my ice maker has quit making ice. The box is completely empty. I looked it up online and took all the simple adjust/test steps. None worked. The water line is not stopped up because cold water still disperses from the freezer door.
I didn't realize I depended so much on ice. Without ice to slow me down, I am drinking more cold water. (I am restricted for medical reasons, and ice chips was a way around that).I have been checking the freezer way too often, hoping it was just a fluke. I will have to go buy some ice, I guess. I wish I still had an old-fashioned ice tray. I've tried freezing small amounts in plastic cups.
The last appliance repairman I had come to my house did a lousy job and charged a lot of money. So I will rant and rave until I can't take it any longer. How did our grandparents ever get by?
