We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life.

There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God, and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labour in his service. We ought to muse upon the things of God, because we thus get the real nutriment out of them. . . . Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God's Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord. . . .
― Charles Spurgeon

Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strengths.
― C. H. Spurgeon

Hope itself is like a star- not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity.
― Charles Haddon Spurgeon

If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.
― Charles Spurgeon

A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.
― Charles Spurgeon

Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.
― Charles Spurgeon

When your will is God's will, you will have your will.

"Amazing grace how sweet the sound,
that saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found,
was blind, but now I see.
"

Verse #1 of "Amazing Grace" by John Newton

--------------------------------------------

What changed in me to make me whole?
When did I start to trust?
When did I cling to this new goal?
When was my life made just?

When was I made alive inside?
When did I choose the Lord?
Am I yet humble, without pride?
Consume I now the Word?

Can once we're saved, we speak this bold?
Or is this statement pride?
Can we be sure of Heav'n when told?
Or is this Hope denied?

I was quite young when Hell became real.
I knew I must avoid that Place,
but Hope was not through what I'd feel,
nor words of honesty and lace.

I prayed the prayer when I was six.
I wondered, if I'd done it right.
Emotions can play us with tricks,
uncertainty, that leads to fright.

How many times at Altar Call
would I go there to make things right?
How often on my face I'd fall,
and rise not knowing of my plight.

But then the Scriptures by His Aid
became my Counselor and Guide.
The way I know my heart is stayed
upon the Truth, in Jesus hide...

...is as the vital signs reflect
new life in me, that shows forth Christ.
New heart, new passions all connect
with He, Who paid Sin's awful Price.

No man can come to Christ at all
without the Father's drawing, "Come,"
and when obeyed this drawing call
is ne'er denied by His Own Son.
(John 6:37,44, KJV)

The heart now changed from stone to flesh
with spirit changed in this manner the same
desires the things of God the best.
The new-made life is now-made plain.
(Ezekiel 36:26-27; John 3:3, KJV)
