You're so right, the bite is very painful, that's why I keep on top of diatomaceous earth and the scorpion spray that I use under our appliances and sinks.

Hi Lyn, I don't envy your scorpions. We don't get many of the little blighters here. I think there were more a few years ago. I do know I was bitten by a teeny one on my foot and the pain was intense.

July is very hot here in Las Vegas. March, April and May are the most comfortable for doing outside things and then once again in September, October and November. I've been cleaning the yard up, spreading diatomaceous earth outside to make sure we have no scorpions wandering around. I use it in the house as well, since it's not hazardous to our cats. Those nasty scorpions are dormant November to March after that you never know.

I once traveled to the Panama Canal Zone with my 9 month old son. To meet my husband who was stationed on a military base there. I was 19 years old. Never been on a plane, bus, or train before. Terrified during the entire trip. Did not think of it as bravery. Thought of it as something expected of me to do.

Thank you so much.

Too add fuel to the fire, so to speak, for some reason, she has always sought me out to be the enemy, even though all I have ever done was help her. I guess that is the way it is...when you do not truly want help, though.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. Her returning to a destructive relationship not only affects her and her future happiness but yours too and yet they don't see what it does to you.

Yeah...I Certainly did Run...leaving him to his Fate!! Escape he did, with nary a scratch. Both of us in our fifties. Getting too old for that type of nonsense! Liable to Break a Hip...or something!

I absolutely agree with the foolishness of holding a ladder for a husband. I often get called on to do just that. I laughed when I read what your husband called down to you! I guess he did warn you however casually.

A change of season

Hello Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Hello Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.

Do you have plans now that we're in a new season? Travel or home renovations?

It is strange but true a change of season seems to get the blood rising and the inspiration flowing to do something, anything, just different.
I always feel the summer is something to get through here in Perth, the days and nights are so hot. My mission is just to keep the garden alive during those months. Now Autumn is here and the days should start to cool. To me that's a signal to plant, prune and make my garden look nice. All the trees, once we get rain, breathe a sigh of relief and the smell of eucalyptus fills the air. We usually go away in July, that's our winter months. Some of our family live in Far North Queensland and June, July and August are the only months I'll travel to visit there as that's their dry season and cooler months. So we are booked to go for my birthday in July.
