Ten years ago I was writing several blogs on various subjects - F1 motor racing, Music, Classic Cars, Great Romances and, most crushingly, a personal journal that included my thoughts on America, memories of England and Africa, opinion, humour, writing and anything else that occurred. It all became too much (I was attempting to update the journal every day) and I collapsed, exhausted and thoroughly disillusioned in the end.
So this blog is indeed a Toe in the Water, a place to document my thoughts in and on WdC but with a determination not to get sucked into the blog whirlpool ever again. Here's hoping.
Ahh... I submitted my three for consideration. Perhaps you should take a gander to "Quill Self-Submission Forum" with your items. It would be your daily forum post if you haven't already.
I have, for years, wanted to write a semi-fictional story, or even a series, about three past pets and their antics. At the time, these three continued to entertain us, and like you, I put off the story because it had not fully developed yet. After they passed, it was too painful to write, and in time the idea faded. Thank you for reminding me, perhaps now would be a great time for me to relive those wonderful years and share their story.
I have a question... how are you finding the water? Are your toes comfortable?
I too support many blogs and a web page plus do editorial work. This is
eye opening for me and I have set a minimum number of posts a month
in order to keep things under control.
The key for me has been to remind "ME" that I am the one in control. What
is expected is what I expect from Myself!
I did not have to travel to the Land of Echocardiograms to have them take pictures of my ticker. Instead, a couple of technicians from that land arrived, pushing/driving this monstrosity of a machine into my hospital room, where once they had it parked, opened it, and proceeded to cover my chest with some KY Jelly.
I am due for another echocardiogram in three months; I will travel to and see the Land of Echocardiograms then.
Well, as I have mentioned elsewhere in WDC today, I woke up as sick as a dog. Looking back in this blog, I see that I last apologised for the slowing down in production due to illness only two months ago. It looks bad, I know, but what can I do? When the sickness fairy strikes, I'm clearly not dodging quickly enough.
Anyway, this is my latest humble apology. I will try to continue to produce my usual daily fare but it ain't easy at times. Began a story for SCREAMS!!! a few days ago and the deadline is not far off - no guarantee now that I'll finish it in time.
