Ten years ago I was writing several blogs on various subjects - F1 motor racing, Music, Classic Cars, Great Romances and, most crushingly, a personal journal that included my thoughts on America, memories of England and Africa, opinion, humour, writing and anything else that occurred. It all became too much (I was attempting to update the journal every day) and I collapsed, exhausted and thoroughly disillusioned in the end.
So this blog is indeed a Toe in the Water, a place to document my thoughts in and on WdC but with a determination not to get sucked into the blog whirlpool ever again. Here's hoping.
Cats are intelligent opportunists, as are we. Had they developed opposable thumbs, I suspect they would be the apex predator despite our supposed greater intelligence. Cats are free of one thing and that is that humans with the most confidence (of which there are a very great many) are usually the dumbest. The really clever ones are the ones who can recognise they are stupid. You see, you need to understand 90% of something before you can ask a sensible question. Fortunately, Darwinism is working hard to thin these examples out. Unfortunately, sometimes these confident but dumb examples get elected as leaders. Many, many times, I really wish I was born a cat...
I agree, the hardest part is coming up with a story, but I feel the second hardest part is being interrupted while writing and then trying to get back into the story.
