Unmarried and without kids of my own - what will my legacy be?
The joy of reading, for a student? The hobby of collecting post marks?
The meticulousness of preparing for a workshop?
Intangible legacies, all, but important I hope.

I'm looking forward to meeting my counsellor again, after a gap of 5 years. She had helped me cope with the PTSD after multiple eye surgeries.

Now I need to speak to her about the overwhelmed feeling of being solely responsible for an 88 year old Dad, and of the fear of being alone once Dad dies.

Oh, there's nothing 'terribly' wrong. Dad is fine, except for his mobility. He watches movies on Netflix and emails people and attends online classes and stuff. But he's eighty-eight and aging, and it's an effort for him to keep going. I'm single and I have no siblings. We lost Mom in Dec 2006, so it's just Dad and me. We have good paid help, but it's not the same. We have very supportive extended family, but they're not in the same city.

So I feel overwhelmed and need to talk to someone. Thus I decided to reconnect with my counsellor. Meeting her this afternoon. Hope it goes well.
