Oh, sonali, it sounds like you had a fabulous day of retail paradise! I understand about collections. I used to go to flee markets, tag sales, antique shows... etc! I loved collecting china. Flow blue was on the top of my want to haves. Also old time pots and pans and cast iron ...I love to cook! As years went on, I didn't have the space to keep collecting. Now I must think of how to dispose of what I have. I can't possibly use all the stuff I've collected, and the kids have enough of their own stuff and are not interested in pass-on's.
At least you collect reasonably that which you are passionate about, Smaller items that are useful each day. Also, you gift bunches of them so you aren't looking for more space for all of them on a shelf or fridge.
Ah, go for it, I say! Plus you make your fellow Potterheads very happy.
Humming Bird — I was playing this naughty little boy, and a prospective groom and mom-in-law were coming to 'see' my sister for an arranged marriage. So my 'mother' had told me to keep away. But she put the food out there for them and I wanted it so I went to the room. When I heard her coming I hid under the table! She discovered me when she tripped over my toes. That's why the table had to be the exact size - I had to be wholly hidden but my toes had to peep out.
StephBee - Oh yes, it was successful. Aside from ticket sales (to doting parents and other such! ) we had a 'programme' with advertisements. We also had extra donations.
The Principal of my school was very dynamic. In fact, to this dsy, the school comes out #1 Girls' day school in India in polls undertaken by various leading magazines. This 'festival of one-act plays' was a major project of hers each year. We had three plays, two in English and one in Hindi. Leading theatre and movie personalities would 'judge' our performances. (I was told I missed getting a prize by a few points - three prizes were awarded per play and I was #4. My Principal thought I should've got a prize and announced that in the assembly and even wrote something nice about my acting in her character reference to me when I finished school.)
The year after this, the school staged 'The Diary of Anne Frank' and after that, 'The Life of Helen Keller'.
The play, produced by the Principal as a fundraiser for the school, was done on a large scale. A professional hall was booked and tickets sold.
Being an all-girl school, we took the boys' roles as well. I was the younger brother of the bride, always getting into trouble.
My 'reward' for getting into trouble? I was the only one who got to eat on stage!! Even the 'bride' and 'groom' didn't have roles where they ate food!
There was one scene where I had to hide under a table.
The director wanted it to look realistic.
During rehearsal I was lying on the floor while every table in school was tried out over me.
None of them fit to his satisfaction.
So - a carpenter measured me and the table was custom made.
Other actresses get measured for costumes.
I got measured for furniture.
